While there is a time and place for incrementalist thinking, that only leads to incremental progress, and I’m saying that we need to add in some big swings, like my proposal for a new economic vision for Portland that are not just the same ideas done slightly better, and a little bit cheaper.
What would it take in 4 years for people to say Portland is the most ambitious city in America, and that we Portland earned it.
For some time, Portland has been long on process and consensus, and short on vision and conviction. We need to change that!
